They're a successful team with a sport that's the 4th most popular in that country.

I suppose their success could be given credit for making it the 4th most popular sport in the country? Had they been an awful team throughout the 20th century, I suppose fewer people in that region would have liked watching the sport, and by extension the rest of the country minus Michigan, Minneapolis, et al.

Even though they won there first game (2-1) they still came in last place with a 6-24 record. They didn't improve much until there 3rd season (1926-27). They took advantage of the collapse of the Western Hockey league. They purchased there first start who was a defenseman named Eddie Shore. That season they reached the Stanley Cup Final but they went only 1 game above .500 loosing to the Ottawa Senators. In 1929 they did defeat the New York to win there first stanley cup. It turned out that Shore was a good buy because he was a standout player on the way to the cup.

That sounds awesome alone winning a Stanley Cup and only being a team for 4 years. Even the season after that they did a phenomenal job going 38-44 (.875) in the regular season. But they did end up loosing to the Montreal Canadiens in the Stanley Cup Final.

I think another reason they became so popular was because they are an Original Six team.

I tried to answer the question, hope I helped.

Also the picture of Bobby Orr...I mean EVERYBODY has seen that picture.

The entertainment industry, especially TV talk shows, is a very hectic job.
You have to get up early and be at work before anyone else.
And comes back home late as well.
The pay is reasonable but hectic......

Overall a Linux based platform can perform most of the tasks equally as well as a Windows based platform using the likes of Ubuntu and its derivative distros. However Linux does have its limitations with some applications and in particular gaming. For example alongside Linux Mint I retain a partition with XP on to run specific applications
http://apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_windows_xp_and_linux_xp_installed_first.htm

Reinstall Windows 7 if that is an option an if you intend to run a number of Windows applications I suggest Dual Booting by installing Linux inside Windows

Installing Ubuntu as a dual-boot with Windows without partitioning
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wubi

Download Ubuntu Desktop Edition
http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download

You download the ISO. image of Ubuntu 10.10 then you need to create a Bootable LiveCD for installation
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto

Ubuntu 10.10 can also be run straight from the LiveCD from Boot without touching your Hard Drive

Download Ubuntu Desktop Edition (Windows installer standalone Download) no LiveCD needed
http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/windows-installer

Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) User Guide
http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu:Maverick

I thoroughly recommend Linux Mint 9 LTS and Linux Mint 10 Main Edition which are built upon Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and Ubuntu 10.10 they are easy to install and easy to use plus they come with much of the software you are likely to need preinstalled

Linux Mint has a similar installer called mint4win (mint4win works the same as the Ubuntu Windows installer so the instructions outlined above are almost identical)

You keep Windows as it is, mint4win only adds an extra option to boot into Linux Mint. mint4win does not require you to modify the partitions of your PC, or to use a different bootloader, and does not install special drivers. It works just like any other application.

mint4win keeps most of the files in one folder, and if you do not like it, you can simply uninstall it as any other application.

Boot in to windows insert the Linux Mint LiveCD and you will offered the option of installing inside windows which is where the mint4win installer comes in, you will be asked how many gigabytes you wish to allocate to Linux Mint (I recommend 8gb) then you set a password for your installation then click install and thats it.

Once Linux Mint is fully installed upon starting your PC you will be given a choice of which operating system you want to use Windows or Linux Mint

Linux Mint 10 Download

Linux Mint 9 LTS User Guide

Linux Mint 10 User Guide

Linux Mint 9 LTS and Linux Mint 10 as with Ubuntu 10.10 can also be run straight from the LiveCD from Boot without touching your Hard Drive

I have Windows 7 on hp pavillion dv6000 but mainly run Ubuntu Linux, so I basically have a dual boot. I'm more into computers and networking and thus tend to use Ubuntu more and it's never given me any issues as unlike Windows. Windows 7 also runs just fine but since Windows is associated with crushing frequently and viruses, I barely use it for important stuff unless I have Windows pipo and their Windows programs which can neither run in Linux nor Wine therein. I would advise you run Ubuntu side by side your Windows 7 if you are new to Linux and then do the switchover when you feel comfortable with Linux. Otherwise, you can get rid of the Windows 7 and Ubuntu will do just fine. Moreover, you will have a lot of help should you get any issues or stuck somewhere. Hope this helps.
